What a welcome! I live in Sydney in Australia and was visiting San Diego on business for a couple of weeks. I went to GB San Diego to see if I could train while away from home and could not have been made more welcome. Professor Ogawa is a brilliant teacher and the people I trained with could not have made me feel more welcome. I would not hesitate to make this my "home" academy if I were living in the San Diego area.

Ogawa Sensei is an INCREDIBLE Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Instructor !!! His martial art skills are equally matched by his kindness and genuine willingness to help you understand the concepts and technical aspects behind the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills he teaches. I enjoyed learning from him so much that I decided to bring my 5-year old daughter to their child lessons and she LOVES attending them!I'm a swim coach and I know how important it is to help a child master skills and developSelf-confidence, so that they can go on to become strong-minded individuals. I could not ask for a better instructor or role model for my daughter. Ogawa Sensei's positive attitude and reinforcement are things that I value highly, especially since it is helping my daughter's self-confidence flourish. Definitely stop by and check this place out! I did and after they gave me a free Introductory lesson, I haven't stopped coming back!

What an amazing school. I train in the Los Angeles area and was in San Diego on business this week. I decided to go down to Gracie Barra San Diego and get some training in while I was away from home. I was blown away at how real and genuine professor Ale 'and the rest of the students were. They welcomed me with open arms and I got some great training in. If you are in the area and looking for a real Bjj school, look no further.

Great gym, great staff, & great environment. I can't imagine having our grandsons train at any other gym, this gym is special! Very family friendly with a positive atmosphere. It's been a blessing and privilege having our grandkids train with a great leader, mentors and coaches at Gracie Barra Carlsbad. Thank you Professor Aaron and staff for welcoming our family to the gym and training everyone to be competitive champions on and off the mats!

I had the opportunity to train here while traveling. I have to say I felt very welcome here and I had some great training partners !! I felt like I was visiting family which is how it is supposed to be! I would recommend anybody in the area to visit this academy! Professor showed some great technique and related it all to self-defense!! Oss !!!
